The George Mark Elliot Library of Cincinnati Christian University

The George Mark Elliott Library provides members of the CCU community with the learning resources and services they need to successfully meet their information needs and fulfill their educational objectives.  The library has a collection of approximately 150,000 books (both print and electronic), microforms, audio-visual media and other kinds of resources.  Patrons can search the library’s holdings by using SCROLLS, the CCU library’s online catalog.  The library also provides access to a vast array of magazines and journals, both in print and electronic formats.  Patrons can also access over 100 research databases from the library’s web site.

The G. M. Elliott Library also houses CCU’s archives collection.  Photographs, documents, and memorabilia pertaining to the history of Cincinnati Christian University are preserved in the archives.

Visitors to the CCU Library

Friends of CCU, including alumni, area ministers, researchers, and other interested parties are welcome to use the G. M. Elliott Library.  A valid driver’s license is required to establish an account with the library and check out materials.  The library’s web site provides the hours of operation as well as additional information about accessing the library resources and services.

OhioLINK Membership

The library participates in an organization called OhioLINK, which ties together college and university libraries throughout the State of Ohio.  Patrons can use the OhioLINK online catalog to search for and request books and other items from other OhioLINK member libraries.  This quick, efficient interlibrary loan service provides CCU library patrons with millions of information resources that supplement the information resources they can check out directly from the G. M. Elliott Library.

Donating to the CCU Library

Gifts of books and other materials are welcomed by CCU.  Such donations are tax-deductible and can be made any time throughout the year.  Please see the gift policy statement on the CCU library’s web site for further details.  Gifts of photographs or other CCU-related memorabilia are also welcome.  The library is also interested in collecting books, documents, and memorabilia related to the history of the Restoration Movement for its rare books and  archives collection.

Financial gifts to fund the purchase of library resources are also welcome.  Arrangement can be made to donate gifts in memory of individuals.  Please contact Jim Lloyd, Director of Library Services, for further information.

George Mark Elliott

The George Mark Elliott Library was named in honor of George Mark Elliott, a beloved professor who taught Bible and theology courses at Cincinnati Christian University for over 40 years before his death in 1981.  Part of his personal library has been incorporated into the library’s collection.  Further information about the history of G. M. Elliott Library can be found on the library’s web site.  Additional information about the history of the library and the history of CCU can be researched in the library’s archives.
