Academic Support Services

The Academic Support Office provides a variety of services to all students to enhance and improve academic skills. Support services include advising, tutoring, mentoring, teaching study skills, providing test taking strategies, assisting with papers, proofreading, and facilitating study groups.

In addition, services are provided to assist students with identified disabilities by engaging with learning coaches and note-takers. Tests can be taken in the Learning Center for those students who need additional time or a private setting. Services for the visually or hearing impaired students are coordinated through this office as well. The Learning Center is conveniently located in the lower level of the Worship/Ministry building and offers an adjacent assisted-study room for students who may need a place to study. The Academic Support Office staff includes the Director of Student Experience, Ray Horton. The director holds an M.S. in Counseling and College Student Development. He is assisted by several qualified learning coaches, including Lead Learning Coaches Jonathan Garrett and Stephen Harris. The office is open daily Monday through Thursday 10am to 9pm, and Friday 10am to 4pm.
