Earning Multiple Seminary Degrees

A student who has earned a Masters of Arts (Religion) from CCU may pursue a second MAR degree from CCU in a different concentration. No more than half of the credit hours for the first degree may be applied to the second degree.

To earn a second Master of Arts (Religion) degree with a concentration in Biblical Studies, Theological Studies or Church History, a student must complete a minimum of 15 additional credit hours in the new area of concentration, meet all the requirements for the additional concentration, and write a thesis. If a thesis was written for the first MAR, the student may complete an additional 21 credit hours and complete the CERP.

To earn a second Master of Arts (Religion) degree with a concentration in Pastoral Leadership, a student must complete a minimum of 21 additional credit hours in the new area of concentration and meet all the requirements for the additional concentration, including the Field Education, Practicum, or Internship.
