What makes CCU different? Like other accredited colleges and universities, we have a qualified faculty, an excellent library, and well-equipped classrooms. We have a beautiful campus filled with energetic students, and thousands of alumni who love our school and treasure the memories they built here in the past. We provide high-quality food services and top-notch technical support. We offer on-line classes and extra-curricular activities in music and athletics.

But amenities like these can be found at other colleges as well. What makes CCU different? Why should a prospective student choose to enroll here? Why should donors support CCU with their financial resources? Here are five key differentiators that set our university apart.

#1 Christ Centered and Faith Active

Among institutions of higher learning, we are Christian. In a world where truth is being compromised and the Savior’s name is being trashed or simply ignored, we unashamedly lift up Jesus Christ as the way to salvation, the ultimate source of wisdom, the head of the church, and the Lord of life. We care not only about our students’ intellectual and social development, but also about their spiritual growth. We believe in the cross and the empty tomb. We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that education is incomplete if it doesn’t equip students to love God and love their neighbors.

#2 Biblical Core

Among Christian colleges, we are a Bible college and seminary with Scripture at the core of our curriculum and humble service at the heart of our mission. Our students do not merely take a few token religion courses. Instead, along with their other classes, they engage in a robust and balanced study of God’s Word, from Old Testament History to the Gospels, from the Acts of the Apostles to the Book of Revelation. At CCU, the Bible is the trunk of the tree from which every branch of study grows, and ministry (servant-leadership in action) is at the heart of every degree program. We believe the world desperately needs strong, authentic, godly men and women who have a well-informed faith and who exemplify Christian character. We take our marching orders from Jesus’ Great Commission. No matter what degree program they choose (from business management to preaching, from ministry to music), we prepare our students to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them . . . and teaching them” (Matthew 28:19, 20).

#3 Unique Connection With The Church

While we gladly serve students from a wide variety of backgrounds, among Bible colleges and seminaries, we have a unique connection to the undenominational churches associated with the Restoration Movement. That’s why we lift up the great ideals of loyalty to biblical truth, effectiveness in sharing the hope-giving message of Christ, and unity with other believers. We agree with time-honored slogans like these: “Where the Bible speaks, we speak; and where the Bible is silent, we are silent.” “In essentials, unity; in opinions, liberty; and in all things, love.” “We are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.”

#4 Skilled and Highly Engaged Faculty and Staff

CCU is large enough to offer a balanced and fully accredited academic program, but we are small enough to know our students and care for them individually. Our professors are serious educators who possess strong faith and a deep reservoir of experience, but they also take a personal interest in our students and pursue authentic relationships with those they teach. Our students and alumni treasure the deep and lasting friendships they have built at CCU.

#5 Urban Hub

Another important differentiator is that our campus is strategically positioned in an urban center in the geographical heart of America. We welcome our students to a scenic 54-acre hilltop campus where the Cincinnati skyline reminds us of our God-given responsibility to be a light on the hill. We have a unique opportunity to equip students to serve the Lord in a culture that is increasingly urban and multi-cultural. And our extension sites in Tri-County, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Jeffersonville, Indiana, provide additional access for students who desire the unique experience offered at CCU.

What makes CCU different? It’s easy to find out. Spend time on our campus. Talk with our people. Visit our website: www.CCUniversity.edu. Give us an opportunity to share with you what CCU has been about since 1924: quality education in an atmosphere of faith.
