Transfer Students

Transfer and Non-Traditional Students

Whether you are currently in college or it has been a few years, CCU looks forward to having you join our campus community as you are equipped with new skills and abilities.

Transfer Students with More Than 24 Hours of Coursework

  • An official transcript is required from your previous college(s) indicating at least 24 hours of completed coursework from schools accredited by institutional and professional agencies recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. You will be granted admission based on your previous college work.
  • There is no requirement to submit a high school transcript.
  • A college GPA of 2.0 or better is required for Full Acceptance. Students with a college GPA between 1.75 and 2.0 will be granted Conditional Acceptance.

Transfer Students with Less Than 24 Hours of Coursework

  • An official transcript is required from both the previous college(s) and high school.
  • Admission will be based on an evaluation of both your previous college work and the freshman standards.
  • Transfer students may be asked to submit a transfer evaluation reference that has been completed by the Dean of Students or Student Life office of your previous college(s) if you were enrolled in a total of twelve hours or more of classes at that institution.
  • Transfer students must be in good standing at all previous colleges attended. Good standing includes such areas as academics, discipline, and finances. Previous collegiate academic or disciplinary probation or outstanding bills from other colleges will negatively affect admission to CCU.

Our Admissions Counselors look forward to answering your questions.

Non-Traditional Students

Non-traditional students are defined as individuals age twenty-three and above who have earned fewer than twenty-four hours of college credit. Admission status will be based on:

  • A high school transcript or state diploma based on the GED (same standards as listed previously), ACT or SAT Reasoning Test scores.
  • In the absence of these, admission status may be determined by scores on an English proficiency test administered by CCU, an essay, and an interview with an Admissions Counselor and a faculty member.
