This page contains information provided online for all currently enrolled students in the Counseling & Family Studies Department at Cincinnati Christian University. All available information is available in PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Student Organizations
The Counseling & Family Studies Department houses two student organizations, as noted below. Students are encouraged to participate in student organizations, as this will enrich the education experience, provide professional development and leadership opportunities, and also provide outlets for advocacy opportunities. The available student organizations represent student chapters of two national professional organizations: Chi Sigma Iota International and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Alpha Chi Alpha chapter of Chi Sigma Iota International
The Alpha Chi Alpha chapter is currently inactive. Because the Counseling & Family Studies Department is currently restructuring to seek CACREP accreditation, we hope to re-activate our student chapter soon. Please contact the Faculty Advisor, Dr. David Brown, with any questions.
American Association of Christian Counselors
The student chapter of AACC is actively involved at Cincinnati Christian University. On the second Tuesday of every month, an AACC Forum is conducted to provide topics of interest to the University community. Previous topics include self care, suicide prevention, the effects of food on mood, brain physiology, and theophostic counseling.
Financial Aid & Student Assistance
Financial aid is available for qualified students. Students seeking federal loans, grants, and scholarships should seek more information and assistance with Student Financial Services (SFS). SFS also serves other functions that may be of interest to students: access to student accounts, cash personal checks, commuter meal plans, Bookstore debit accounts, and notary public services.
Graduate Assistantships are available through the Cincinnati Bible Seminary (Graduate Division) Dean’s Office. Interested students should file an application with the Dean’s Office. Graduate Assistants are currently assigned to all full-time, core faculty in the Counseling & Family Studies Department; students are encouraged to inquire with individual faculty if interested in collaborating with that faculty member.
Online Resources
Returning students may register for courses online using the CCU intranet system, My.CCU. New students must register for courses at the Office of the Registrar for their first semester of study. Other online resources are provided below.
