Practicum
As a requirement to complete the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program, the Practicum experience consists of 100 supervised hours of providing counseling services to clients. These 100 hours consist of 50 direct contact hours and 50 general hours. Students complete the Practicum experience over two semesters (enrollment in “COUN 592: Practicum I” and “COUN 593: Practicum II”), although some students may require a third semester to complete the Practicum requirements (enroll in “COUN 594: Practicum III”). PRACTICUM REQUIREMENTSThe Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) Practicum experience at Cincinnati Christian University is designed to meet requirements of both the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Program (CACREP) and the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board (CSWMFT). As such, the Practicum experience will consist of the following elements:
PRACTICUM COURSE REQUIREMENTSThe following courses are noted as prerequisite before a Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) student may begin the Practicum experiences. These courses are specifically designed to prepare the student in providing counseling services to clients.

Please note that various forms and materials are updated periodically. All revised and updated forms and materials will be made available online. Practicum students will be notified accordingly.
