The Charles and Penny Faust Urban Scholars Program

Sponsored by

Urban Scholars

The Urban Scholars Program is about urban leadership development. CCU invests in the lives of students who come from families and cultures in which educational success is typically not achieved. The core of the program is simple: discover, recruit, and scholarship students from urban areas who demonstrate Christian character and leadership ability.

  • Educational Success: The program offers a full-tuition, room, and board Urban Scholars grant and provides academic mentoring and support for students to enable their academic success.
  • Spiritual Life: CCU works with Urban Scholars to enhance their relationship with God through numerous enriching experiences on and off campus.
  • Healthy Relationships: The Urban Scholars program creates a supportive community for students as they progress in their academic careers through mentoring from faculty and staff. Students also remain connected to their community through regular interaction with their ministry sponsor.
  • Preparing for Leadership: The Urban Scholars program enables students to train in a supportive environment not only so they can succeed personally, but so they can make a positive impact in their family, their church, and their community. CCU is committed to building Christian leaders one person at a time to serve the church and shape the world.
