Adolecent/Young Adult Education
Teachers Licensure Program AYA English
Students completing this licensure program are certified to teach English in grades 7-12 in public or private schools in the state of Ohio. Our graduates have the option of transferring their license to other states.
Requirements
In order to interview for acceptance into the Adolecent/Young Adult Program, each student must meet several requirements. Interviews are usually completed during the spring semester of a students sophomore year. Note: Completion of these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
- Attend Orientation
- Completed Application Form
- Received Career Guidance through CCU’s Counseling Center
- Provide one-page reflection on what you learned through the Career Guidance process
- Successfully complete Voice, Fluency and Articulation Screening
- Praxis 1 Test of General Knowledge Reading – score of 170 or better
- Praxis 1 Test of General Knowledge Writing – Inof 170 or better
- Praxis 1 Test of General Knowledge Math – score of 170 or better
- Evaluation of Dispositions of the Pre-service Teacher form completed by Professor
- Evaluation of Dispositions of the Pre-service Teacher form completed by Minister
- Evaluation of Dispositions of the Pre-service Teacher form completed by Employer
- Provide documentation of at least 30 hours of Christian Service in an educational settings
- Provided a copy of a recent transcript for the following requirements:
- Modern Ethical Problems or approved ethics elective (B- or better)
- Six hours of English (B- or better average)
- Three hours of Math (B- or better average)
- Five hours of Social Science (B- or better average)
