Students may register up to the start date of the class (August 27).
Method of Communication between Students and Instructor
Communication with instructor: Students may use phone, fax, or email to communicate directly with the instructor. He will also monitor the Discussion Board and interact with students via that means.
Communication with students: Students communicate with one another primarily via email and the Discussion Board. Those who want to can also use the phone or even meet face-to-face.
Grading
This course is only offered online for credit. When a student has completed the course work, a letter grade will be assigned based on the CCU grade scale - A (95-100), A- (94-92), B+ (91-89), B (88-86), B- (85-83), C+ (82-80), C (79-77), C- (76-74), D+ (73-71), D (70-68), D- (67-65), F (64-0).
Technical Specifications / Requirements
Course information and materials, the Discussion Board, and testing are hosted on the CCU eLEARN site running the Moodle Course Management System. Students need an Internet connection (56K minimum recommended) and a student ID number (issued by CCU) to access their course site.
This course utilizes a multimedia CD requiring the following software or plugins (recommended versions in parentheses):
Java-enabled Web Browser - Internet Explorer, Netscape, or Firefox
Real Player (8 preferably)
Macromedia Shockwave (8.5)/FlashPlayer (5)
Microsoft Word 97+ (or a compatible Word Processor)The course CD's are designed for use with PC's running Windows 95 or higher. Currently this is the only platform for which the materials have been developed. Some users have reported being able to run the materials on Macintosh, but the content has not been tested and verified to work on that platform.
You will need a PC with Pentium (or compatible) processor (266 + Mhz), 64 Mb RAM, sound card and speakers or headphones, video display capable of at least True Color (800x600), mouse and keyboard.
