Federal Grants
Federal Pell Grant
Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have not already earned a bachelor’s degree. The amount awarded is based on need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and enrollment status. The maximum Pell Grant award for 2010-2011 is $5,550.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
This grant is awarded to Pell-eligible students who demonstrate the greatest financial need. Valid FAFSA results must be received in the Financial Aid Office by May 1 to receive consideration. The maximum award amount at CCU for 2009-2010 was $1,200.
Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
This grant is awarded to first- and second-year undergraduate students who completed a rigorous secondary school program of study after January 1, 2006. Eligible students will receive a Pell Grant award during the same academic year, attend full time, and be U.S. citizens. Second-year students must achieve a 3.0 GPA as of the end of their first academic year of study. The maximum award amount for a first-year student is $750 and for a second-year student is $1,300. Eligibility will be reviewed by CCU Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid staff.
State Grants
Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG)
The Ohio College Opportunity Grant is awarded to students who are residents of Ohio and are pursuing undergraduate degrees. Award amounts are determined by the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and student enrollment status. This grant may be applied to tuition and fees only. The maximum OCOG award for 2010-2011 is $1,848. This annual amount is based on full-time enrollment.
