Reporting
The Institutional Research office coordinates and assists in institutional reporting to a variety of entities. CCU Fact BookThe CCU Fact Book provides a compilation of key data regarding the school’s history and performance. Data is compiled historically from official IPEDS submissions and other sources and is provided in an electronic format to anyone interested in the school. The first CCU Fact Book was completed in the winter of 2010. In the future, data will be updated each year and then the new edition will be provided to the trustees at their February meeting, and then disseminated to a wider audience after their review. While the CCU Fact Book is prepared for a particular academic year, annual data is only available for the previous year (academic/financial). In these instances the data is up-to-date for the prior year. Note: The index for the CCU Factbook is hyperlinked. If you click on any item you will be taken to that page. * If you want to print a copy of the CCU Fact Book it is designed to be printed in landscape mode and bound at the left side. If you print it double-sided the items will line up correctly. CCU ScorecardThe CCU Scorecard is a compilation of key performance indicators. It is created weekly on Thursday evening and disseminated to administrators, trustees, and faculty and staff. Several samples are provided here. To obtain the latest scorecard contact the CCU Institutional Research office. It is provided on Thursday to give traveling staff an up-to-date report before the weekend. Common Data Set (CDS)The Common Data Set is an agreed upon reporting format between higher education institutions and entities that request annual report information (e.g. College Board, US News and World Report). The CCU IR office compiles a copy of the Common Data Set each fall and then submits that compilation to entities that request the information. Recent CDS files are available for review below (Microsoft Excel files).
Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)IPEDS is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually, which gathers information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution in the United States and other jurisdictions (such as Puerto Rico) that participates in the federal student financial aid programs. The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, requires that institutions that participate in federal student aid programs report data on enrollments, program completions, graduation rates, faculty and staff, finances, institutional prices, and student financial aid. These data are made available to students and parents through the College Navigator college search Web site and to researchers and others through the IPEDS Data Center. IPEDS conducts three stages of data collection during the academic year. The IR office coordinates the data submissions for all three stages with responsible departments. Interested parties can review CCU’s data through the IPEDS Data Center link above. Accrediting Association Annual ReportsCCU’s accrediting associations also require varying levels of annual reports (ABHE, ATS, HLC, TEAC). The IR office again coordinates reporting to each of these associations. Each association uses the annual report data to provide aggregated and comparative data for member institutions. This data provides a means for CCU to compare its performance to other schools in the same associations. Some associations (e.g. ATS) allow the school to define peer institutions. A peer report is then provided with the aggregated data from peer schools. This provide a more precise means of benchmarking the school’s performance in relations to identified peers. |
