Bachelor of Music
The academic programs at CCU in Music & Worship feature the powerful Bachelor of Music in Music and Worship. The BM can focus on applied voice, piano, guitar, composition, percussion, brass, or another instrument by special arrangement.
The central purpose of each of our degrees is to equip graduates to serve the Lord in a local church as a minister of music or worship.
The BM in Music and Worship can also equip a student to succeed in a graduate program of a music school. Many of our graduates open their own teaching studios, or begin a performing career, or obtain teaching licensure to teach music in a public or private school. Several are now teaching in other colleges and universities.
BM with cooperative program leading toward teaching licensure
Some of our students opt to follow up their BM program with a Master of Education from Milligan College, a 15-month program which leads to teaching licensure. At this time, we do not offer an on-site Bachelor of Music Education, but the BM plus the MEd from Milligan College serves as a thorough training to prepare secondary music teachers for public or private schools.
AA in Music & Worship
CCU also offers an Associate of Arts in Music and Worship, which entails an audition and acceptance similar to that of the BM, but in a two-year program. Credits from the AA degree can potentially be applied to complete the BM degree, if a student receives advanced standing approval.
Regardless of your chosen career, our goal is to help all graduates of our degree programs find effective service for the Lord Jesus Christ through music, and to worship him in spirit and in truth.
