CCU MUSIC & WORSHIP GROUPS

All of our groups are open to students in any degree program. Normally, about two-thirds of performing groups members are non-music majors. Pre-registration and auditions for these groups may be completed at Orientation (except outreach groups).

Options for Academic Credit:

Celebration Singers - a mixed chorus open to all freshmen. The choir performs as a worship team in the school's chapel services and Christmas Dinner Theater and Baccalaureate.
Winds of Praise Community Band
Concert Choir - a mixed upper-classmen choir. Transfer students may qualify with previous collegiate choir experience.
Winds of Praise (Jazz & Concert Band) - open to the entire student body. Winds of Praise performs occasionally in Chapel as well as during the Cincinnati Area Christian Community Band's Fall & Spring Concerts and Christmas Dinner Theater.
Private Lessons - offered for any student in the areas of voice, piano, brass instruments, guitar and composition.
World Music Worship Ensemble - A select group of worship musicians who explore the music of other cultures. Offered in the spring.

Options for Extra-Curricular:

Outreach Ministries - The Outreach teams travel from March through November and generally represent CCU while assisting churches and camps with worship, vacation Bible schools, Sunday programs and more. Auditions are held in November and rehearsals begin in January. Outreach team members earn a stipen for their involvement in the program.

What to Do If I Want to . . .

Be a Music Major.

Be Eligible for a Music Scholarship.
The Music & Worship Department offers some music scholarships. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must have your audition finished by the March audition deadline, rather than at the August Orientation.

Be involved in a For-Credit Option.

Be in Outreach (Weekend and Summer Travel Teams).

Apply for an Undergraduate Music or Worship Degree.
Fill out the Music/Worship Degree Application and schedule an entrance audition. Auditions are done on specific dates throughout the year, please contact the Music & Worship Department for more information.
