The Master of Arts (Religion) is oriented towards general and theological studies. The MAR degree has two options, a 54 hour option for those without background in Bible, theology or a related field and a 36-hour option for those who do have background in Bible theology or a related field. The Master of Arts degree provides various concentrations and specializations.


Biblical Studies Concentration

Theological Studies Concentration

Church History Concentration

Students graduating with a Master of Arts (Religion) with concentrations in Biblical Studies (specializations available in: Cultural Settings, New Testament, Old Testament), Theological Studies or Church History will:

  1. Possess skills to study the Scriptures effectively.
  2. Be able to articulate a theology that is biblical and historically orthodox.
  3. Have an understanding of the history of the church.
  4. Be knowledgeable of the principles of the Restoration Movement.
  5. Be able to communicate effectively.
  6. Have met the objectives outlined in the chosen area of concentrated study.

Pastoral Leadership Concentration

Take Classes One Night A Week!

Students graduating with a Master of Arts (Religion) with a concentration in Pastoral Leadership will:

  1. Have constructed a theology for the practice of ministry in contemporary cultural contexts.
  2. Have skill in effective ministry and leadership in order to help the church accomplish its mission.
  3. Have a mature love for God and be committed to personal Christian discipleship.
  4. Be able to communicate effectively.
  5. Have met the objectives outlined in the chosen area of concentrated study.
