Bob Stacy Scholarship Fund
CCU is excited about a new opportunity to honor a special friend, Bob Stacy.
Since Bob started the organization known as Christ In Youth in 1968, tens of thousands of young people have been touched by his ministry.
President David Faust (who worked for CIY back in the 1970s) says, “Bob Stacy has always had a unique God-given ability to connect with teens and call them to a deeper walk with the Lord. Throughout nearly 55 years in ministry, he has demonstrated unwavering devotion to the Lord, the Scriptures, the church, and the preaching of the gospel. He has been a faithful husband to his wife Nell, serving with her as a strong and unified team and setting a wonderful example of joy in a Christian marriage. And he has endured seasons of hardship and grief while maintaining strong faith in the Lord and a positive attitude.”
As a former member of CCU’s faculty, Bob has been a positive advocate for a Bible college education and has led many students to enter vocational Christian service. Over the years he has continued to serve the Lord through preaching and writing-and has made a special point of reaching out to younger preachers as a mentor and friend. Today Bob continues to serve as the preaching minister for Spring Hill Church of Christ, Middletown, Ohio.
In Bob’s honor, we are establishing the Bob Stacy Ministry Scholarship at Cincinnati Christian University. For years to come, this endowed scholarship fund will help students prepare for preaching and youth ministry. It’s appropriate to launch this fund-raising effort during 2008 as a way to honor Bob and Nell on the 40th anniversary of their founding of CIY. Our goal is to raise at least $40,000-a thousand dollars for each year since 1968.
