POSITION TITLE: Payroll Coordinator

Maintains accuracy and integrity of Payroll Masterfile and processes compensation-related information into the payroll system. Assists in the administration of various employee benefits plans and billing processes. The Payroll Coordinator reports to the Director of Financial Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate and enter personnel related information in the Payroll system including employee information, pay rate changes, tax deductions, benefit deductions etc. Evaluate and enter information into the Payroll system from time cards and employee time sheets. Assure accuracy of information entered in Payroll system and electronically transmitting data to payroll processing firm by stringent deadlines. Sort checks to be distributed internally and prepare checks for US mail. Verify withholding and request checks for payment of child support, garnishments, etc. Maintain electronic and hard copy files of payroll-related documents. Administer and maintain changes due to employment, benefits, etc. Respond to inquiries pertaining to individual paychecks. Process paperwork for new hire orientation and terminations Administers bill payment for all benefits. Maintaining accuracy and up to date changes on billings. Conducts benefits enrollment for new employees, and processes changes for current employees Maintains employee benefits, payroll files, and personnel files Responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date paid time off records OTHER DUTIES:
Performs other duties as needed. Archive and Employee and student worker files
Must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb stairs
Moderate noise level
Knowledge of and agreement with the mission of CCU and her philosophy of Christian Higher education and purpose. Knowledge of payroll related practices including taxes and withholding. Basic math skills Payroll experience helpful High School diploma; some college preferred Excellent attention to detail
Ability to interpret HR policies and procedures Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work with little or no supervision Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all aspects of payroll and human resources issues.
